D.I.Y. New Year Prayer Journal for Kids + FREE Printable

Happiest New Year, everyone! I hope this post finds you healthy and joyful! We kick off the year by setting a goal to pray more each day! The Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to pray without ceasing, so teaching our kids to talk to God about everything early on is very important.

We made prayer journals with premade books, which I already had on hand, but I created a FREE printable just for you!

Here's a pick into how we put our 2023 prayer journals together.

Worship songs: (These are a couple of our faves from VBS through the years, be sure to pick your favorites)

Example supplies: (Use things you have at home and let your creativity soar)

  • Stickers

  • construction paper or premade books

  • crayons, markers, or colored pencils

  • pencils

Possible discussion questions: (Let God lead you, that's how all the best discussions happen)

  • What is prayer?

  • What have you prayed about lately?

  • Why do you think prayer is important?

Our journals: (End with adding your first prayer in the journal. Prayers can be written or drawn. God understands both!) Here's how ours came out!

Colossians 4:2

I hope this prayer journal is the beginning of consistent prayer life for your child(ren). Have a great year filled with prayer and family fun!
